How It All Started

Katie Lightman’s journey to becoming a professional groomer began with a lifelong love for dogs and a passion for their well-being. As a dedicated volunteer at local shelters and the Chair of A Dog’s Tale Animal Rescue Foundation, she has spent years rescuing and caring for dogs in need. Her deep connection with animals, combined with her hands-on experience, inspired her to take her passion a step further.

Determined to provide top-quality care, Katie trained under a highly respected groomer in Martha’s Vineyard, refining her skills in breed-specific cuts, coat maintenance, and stress-free grooming techniques. With a commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for every pup, she is excited to open her very own grooming shop at her home in Fall 2024.

Serving the Northeast Georgia region, Katie’s shop will offer expert grooming services with a personalized touch—ensuring every dog leaves looking and feeling their best. Based in Rabun Gap, where she lives with her husband, two kids, and four beloved dogs, Katie understands the importance of quality care and a stress-free grooming experience.

Whether it’s a routine trim or a full spa treatment, she’s dedicated to making tails wag one groom at a time!
